I was prepared to dislike this show because I'd read a negative review in the Guardian. I am happy to have given it a chance! The characters are properly likeable and the stories are smart and funny. It's one of very few shows that my wife and I enjoy in equal measure, and she's not even a football fan.

My expectations were low going in—I thought it would be a silly kids’ movie, but it definitely was not! The gender politics are not subtle, but the humor is sophisticated. I laughed a lot!
