I dont use the word Masterpiece lightly. But thats exactly what this movie is, from its beautiful settings, its attention to detail, and masterful casting and script. This is one of those movies that can be liked by pretty much anyone, Because there is so much to appreciate even at a surface level. Owen Wilson absolutely knocks this lead role out of the park.

I have never ever in all my years of watching movies seen a movie with this good of a cast that is just so downright horrible. This movie is crude, vulgar, downright disgusting in some parts and the biggest crime of all? Its stupid as shit. Its a movie that suffers greatly from an indentity crisis, part of it wants to be a love story, another a true crime and another an alagory about racism in the south back in the day, on literally every front it falls on its face and fails. This movie made me audibly pissed off, Please avoid it like herpes. It is that bad.

Do not come into this movie expecting a cinematic masterpiece with masterful storytelling. It is a simple, dumb at times movie centered around fighting. It is male hormone overload in this movie, that beingg said it is fun. Its a fun little film to turn your brain off to and have fun with. The plot is simple, the fight scenes are good, and it has some moments of genuine comedy. My only real complaint is the story is disjointed, it feels like they had to jam 3 or 4 storylines in this movie to make the plot work. I wasnt a fan of that, but I like jake gylenhaal. I like movies that are dumb action movies sometimes so I give this a thumbs up, if I was gonna grade it like in school I would give it a 70%.

Let me start off by saying that the casting in this movie top to bottom is absolute god tier level. Bill burr and Pete take the brunt of most of the emotional, or memorable speaking scenes/moments and absolutely knock them out of the park. Burr especially surprised me in this movie, Yes he is playing a character similar to what he plays a lot. But it was great, his dynamic with Pete (Scott) throughout the movie carries a lot of the weight of the movie and entertainment value. The story itself and the world theyve built not only feels realistic but it draws you in. As a viewer you feel almost like youve been in these neighborhoods, like these are real people youve met along the way, and in my opinion thats the sign of good writing. I cant heap enough praise to this movie, this goes right up there with Big time adolsence for me. Pete davidson yet again steals the show, this is a must see. Funny, witty, smart, and a nice little ride. Check it out! I gurantee you wont regret it. 5/5

This movie is a fun little journey, its sarcastic, funny, smartly written, and the casting is top notch. Its one I have seen before on streaming services but for whatever reason passed over, a decision I now regret because more people need to be talking about this movie as a good comedy. Its a very self aware movie, poking fun at things like nancy drew and other junior detectives. It reminded me a lot of "The hartley boys" in South Park. Donald Glover more then carries his weight in the role of the lead man, he is basically an 18 year old stuck in an 8 year olds brain with how naive he is and how he talks, but because its Donald Glover it works. The rest of the cast including a lot of familiar faces from the office are fun too and help build this ridiculous world. Its been awhile since a "comedy" movie had me genuinely rolling in laughter. This movie did, it was great. I reccomend everyone try this out if you wanna have a good laugh and go on a fun little journey.
