I have actually never read the book but I just recently went to see the movie, like literally two hours ago. It was... okay? It wasn't bad, but it didn't really strike me as a movie I would go out of my way to watch again. The romances were cute I guess, and the writing was clear, but it missed a lot of marks for me. My main issue with it was that it didn't really have a plot. Sure, a good, hard working girl falls for edgy, yet not edgy, but still edgy bad boy, that's great and all, but that's not enough to drive the plot. It felt like the movie was building up to a huge plot that just never came. I felt like I was watching a teenage girls fantasy, which don't get me wrong, is fine, but not my cup of tea. It wasn't very comic, as was extreamly cliché when it came to characters and a lot of the plot. I feel I watched the whole movie, but I watched it when I watched the trailer. I promise, the trailer kinda gives away what little plot there is, and it's never a good thing when your whole movie can be summed up with one trailer. The actors could've been better, the sex scenes were uncomfortable at the best of times, characters contradicted themselves and it was very rushed. I do also want to point out that it can be incredibly hard to adapt a 10 reading hour long book into a 2 hour long movie, so along side that and this being Wattpads first ever movie? Not too shabby. That being said, I think it would be fun on date night after a glass of wine, but go past 10 so all the 13 year old girls aren't in the theatre. Nothing's is worse than that. Overall: 5/10.
