I wanted to like this film, and in fact it had many of the wonderful characteristics of Midnight in Paris: the amusing music, catchy scene changes, seasoned appealing actors, and quirky plot twists. Woody Allen has successfully engaged us with all this cleverness, stired the pot well, and then... just left it. That isn't story telling. Just like the movie character who couldn't finish a compelling novel, Woody just didn't finish it. I wish he had. He's better than this.
