Its iffy. A lot of the story happens just because it has to and the writers seem to be brotherhood of steel fanboys because somehow after the events of fallout new vegas, where the BoS was just a small bunker with the last bits of the west coast BoS were hiding, the brotherhood is now a giant military fighting force that just kinda... obtained a fully operational airship and vertibirds with no real explanation. Also the NCR was pushed to the sidelines and somehow in all of the LA area the only NCR presence is a single building with some soldiers that look more like raiders than NCR.
Overall the writers just kinda pushed all of the good parts of fallout out of the way and hamfisted in elements and random stuff that dosent really make sense (eg. A barely functioning bunker of tech hoarders somehow turning into a full army with giant airship that just kinda shows up because it has to according to the writers.)
Also they basically cram your head with fluff and info they cant bother to naturally fill into the story that after watching it my brain feels like how it feels after watching youtube shorts for an extended period of time... Numb and empty. They also for whatever reason made all of the characters act like they are some absurd parody of a person. Fallout 1 and 2 were so good because they balanced absurdity and edgy seriousness, this show attempts to make you feel emotions for an event when 10 minutes prior some random crazy dudes "serum" healed a guys mangled foot 100% because "plot has to happen but we cant take out funny scene where foot get stepped on!" Also they try to make you feel sympathy for moldaver after killing a bunch of innocent people because "it was for duh greater good!" Like, you cannot make a character massacre a bunch of people for a plan that was far fetched at best a twist good guy, sure, infinite power (which is something that once again, was forced into existence so it could be a thingamagig plot device), cool! But the whole plan to get it was so convoluted and relied on ONE old man making it across miles and miles of wasteland with a bounty on his head to get to your HQ. Its like if the CIA had to deliver a package that would determine the fate of the world and they gave the package and a nerf gun to a 12 year old and sent them on their way.
