I enjoy the show greatly, though I find the writing this season in regards to Kevin to be some hat troubling. The show is sending a clear message that Kevin is wrong to want the same access and rights to his children as their mother. These are issues that cause many men to take their own lives, and a show that is famous for it's heart is sending the message to these men that they are wrong for wanting to be apart of their children's lives. The best example of this is how they depicted where the children were going for thanksgiving. Knowing it is a major day in their father's side of the family, and that their grandmother is in the early stages of Alzheimer's, Kevin is the one suppose to be in the wrong because Maddison would rather the children spend the time with her and her new partner. There is no reasoning behind this choice other than it's what the mother wants. these are actual behaviors being linked to suicides in divorced parents and their children but who cares right?
