this movie was so. bad you can tell that they were going out of their way not to be cancelled (not saying slurs, changing the line about reginas weight, etc) when in reality, if everyone could handle the slurs and body shaming and other insults in the original movie AND the broadway film, we could definitely handle it in this adaptation to. and someone has to be the one to say it so ill say it, the songs sounded better with the slurs. not because i condone slurs but they sounded better with the slurs MUSICALLY, like once you change the line of a song that everyone is used to it just sound weird with the music. also there were trying way to hard to appeal to the younger generation with the social media and it honestly was not working, the social media parts just came off as corny and trying to be like “hello fellow kids! we relate to u to!” it was just annoying but what really pissed me off was when regina fell on the stage everyone just started to post all over social media how they hate her and started to like cady more?? which honestly doesnt make any sense because they were worshipping regina a few minutes ago and in the original they BUILT UP the way how everyone started to hate regina thats just an example of how fast paced the movie was also not really a compliant but where was cadys dad lol did they seriously not have anyone they could get to play him, the only part i actually enjoyed in this movie was seeing cadys original actor from the movie make a cameo, the scene where she said to the cady in the movie now “honey i dont know ur life” made me laugh but that was really the only scene that made me laugh, they took out so many icon lines too.
