It is rare that I take the time to write a review about a bad movie, but this was just the complete opposite than what I expected after all the 5 stars and awards. A good example that a movie can be awful to the viewers even though it's highly rated everywhere and vice versa. I wouldn't even put this in the category of a thriller. More like family drama. The characters are hard to like or identify with them even in this simple setting. The only character we were worried about was THE DOG! so many unreal situations like letting the 12yr old kid sit through his mum's murder trial, poisoning the dog as an experiment, in the courtroom many people talking at the same time etc. There isn't any character development that would help to make it more enjoyable either. We could not watch it in one sitting, but we wanted to finish it just to have a task completed and because we already paid for it.
