MY REVIEW HAS SPOILERS!
I kinda like this movie. It's very intriguing and engaging. I really hate Marla from the start and I want her punished so badly. And that's why the ending is unsatisfying for me.
Sure, she died. But she pretty much lived her life to the fullest. All those money she stole previously must've allowed her to live her best life. She could have a bit more fun if she lived but I don't think her death means much as a punishment. She needs to pay more than that.
Every story need a good character that viewers can root for. As for this movie, I'm rooting for justice of the old people Marla and her band of misfits forcibly put in that home but I didn't get any.
I get the feeling that the lesbian loveline and recurring sexist remark are attempts to tone down Marla's crime, justify her character and make her a bit more understandable and likeable. But my hatred for her cut through all of those.
It's a good movie about bad people but you won't have justice in the end. Unless, you're rooting for the criminals.
