I watched Animal in theatres yesterday. The movie is just awesome, the way they have portrayed what toxic relationships, hate and revenge can do.
The screenplay is very engaging and impactful. It slowly builds up the character of the protagonist Ranvijay Singh (Ranbir Kapoor) and the disturbed relationship with his father. Ranbir Kapoor's character is a grey of many shades and he has nailed it with his performance! Anil Kapoor has done equally well in his role. Bobby Deol has been given much of a role in the film, but the cameo is impactful, especially the fight scene. Rashmika has done well in a supporting role.
Throughout the story, there are many plot twists and turns. The action scenes are intense and unfiltered. Blood bath takes place! The motive behind all the violence is revenge and protecting the family.
Overall, I would give this movie a full on 10/10 rating.
Bonus : Wait for the post credit scene ;)
One more thing, I would like to say ...
those who are arguing that the movie is misogynistic, promotes toxicity and calling it unrealistic are clearly not understanding the movie and the director's perspective. They should learn to look at a movie as a character study and portrayal. It does not promote toxicity. It portrays it.
