This movie..... made me feel something I haven't felt since I was a kid... that "middle of the night, alone, wandering through the darkness of what is familiar to me (childhood home) while it feels alien to me at the same time" feeling.. even through what some people would call "slow" or "boring" parts of the film, I found myself still in the darkness of my home on edge from the unsettling sinking feeling in my stomach.
The way the movie was directed and shot.. it feels like I'm looking through the eyes of my 6 year old self, trying to sit still or hide from what is creeping in the darkness..
MAYBE SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
I chalk it up to either Kevin dreaming this whole ordeal (nightmare or coma) / An entity tormenting these kids for amusement / or both Kaylee and Kevin were dead all along and forced to relive their tragic ends on repeat, as shown through symbolism throughout the film.. but it's left open to interpretation..
Kyle Edward Ball... BRAVO!!!
