This film may not be for everybody, but frankly I loved it. While some of it made me uncomfortable, I found it overwhelmingly profound. I don't know exactly what the film maker had in mind, but it touched something in my soul about the hurts we endure as humans. It may have different impacts on other people. I imagine some will not get it at all, and just be put off by the weird scenes. But to me, despite the grosteque sequence, it was a thing of beauty that left me thinking deep thoughts about the nature of our existence.

Based on some of the bad reviews, I expected this to be horrible. Actually, it was pretty much what I needed: a light romantic adventure comedy. Sure, it could've had a funnier, more clever script. But it was entertaining nonetheless. I especially liked Daniel Radcliffe's villain. It didn't bother me that there's a big age gap between Channing Tatum & Sandra Bullock. They both look great to me. She actually looks younger than she did in the last movie I saw her in; whether via digital or other enhancements.,, bravo! They were both fun to watch, especially the leeches scene. So, if you, like me, need a little escapism, this one fits the bill!

It was surprisingly good, despite a few minor Disney-esque elements to soften the edges. But mostly, it was a story for grown ups, dealing with trauma, mental illness, and very fun revenge. It was a feast for the eyes in it's design & lavish costuming. The soundtrack could have been a little more era-appropriate, but no big. Emma Stone & Emma Thompson were both electric!

Based on the critic's reviews I was waiting to see some sort of flaw in the film, but never did. I guess it's their prerogative to be critical, though I'm guessing most viewers would disagree. I don't claim to be an RBG aficionado, but I thought it was a well composed portrait of a woman who changed history. It was a lovely movie.

After reading some of the negative reviews, I wasn't sure I'd like this. But my friend & I did enjoy it, despite insufficient effort made to heighten the drama or the comedy. It was a mostly light hearted bit of entertainment with a moral about enjoying what's important in life.
