The album is hauntingly beautiful, one of the most unique and interesting I've ever heard. It's a series of narrative composites that sum up to an extended metaphor, weaving the tale of a terminally ill woman slowly dying to represent an abusive relationship. It's a very bleak album until the penultimate song, before ultimately returning to a depressing reality that just because the death of the abuse has occurred doesn't mean the effects aren't still felt. If you are a person who has gone through a relationship with someone (doesn't even have to be romantic) where you thought you could save someone who in a sense was a lost cause, this will probably become one of your favorite albums.
