This is my 1st movie review ever. And my 1st trip to movie theatre in many months.
Warning: Don't read this if you loved this movie. My review will not please you, but it may save someone some time.
There were 4 of us, all adults (under no influence of anything beside some coffee). We all love good movie. I have enjoyed the visuals and good acting. The monkeys were a surprise to say the least. But I could see the intended messages and anjoyed few short scenes which looked liked dramatic action to keep you brain afloat.
One thing alludes me though. Why did it take 2hrs what anyone with IQ of 52 could summarize in one paragraph. Seriously, this felt like watching a violinist who adjusts the strings for 2 hours, with great care. Then plays 3 very touching notes for 3 seconds to make a point about the fact that violin may be used to play great tune (possibly), while you are kept in 17deg C theatre to stop you from falling a sleep.
I doubt I will see the inside of movie theater in the next 12 months if these types of movies make it there. This film should have warning. Visually enjoyable, with canning plot (use Brad Pit and fake pictures of space to get you see this piece of art).
One thing for sure, if you suffer from insomnia, this film is priceless and should be added to your list immediately.
PS. I'm sorry Brad. You were great though.
Note: While driving home with heater on high, it crossed my mind that this was really an Ad for the moon rover named Astra.
