Pretty appropriate that the baddie tried to force the boat to surface by creating a flood using the bilge system. There was certainly enough bilge to sink a battleship let alone a submarine, even one with the internal space of an aircraft carrier. Next time they make a fictional show on board a submarine please get advice and technical guidance from a submariner and not rely upon Captain Pugwash. I miss my service in boats but this is one that I shan't miss.
