Growing up in Lyon from 1948 to 1960, I know all the places she talks about. I had never heard of Virginia Hall before, what gutsy woman! I remember older people talk about the atrocities committed by “les sales Boches” when as youth from the Protestant church we went to repaint their apartments. Also many scout camps in the Chambon-sur-Lignon area!
