I think it was a combination of the writing and the acting. By season three I decidedly did not like Mom and Ben. They are written as very condescending, especially Mom and her acting isn’t very good and we don’t feel any emotional connections to any of these people in my opinion because the characters have not been properly developed.

I started watching the family, Chantel, and I could see that Pedro was extremely egotistical and found he was quite cruel with his approach to his beautiful bride. He’s whining, constant, whining about how Chantel treats him, is a reflection on how he actually treats her. Chantel is sweet and fair and actually tried her absolute best to keep the marriage going. And then to find out that Pedro decided not to sleep with his wife for what reason? Hmmmm
