Ok so I like(d) the show and came upon it purely by surfing Netflix. It turned out to be quite enjoyable, particularly the friendship between the two lead actors, which reminds me a bit of 'The Odd Couple' and 'Grumpy Old Men' but of course, since we're talking about People like Michael Douglas and this Lorre character, the plot has to occasionally show their downright hate and disgust for anything Trump. I'm not a republican, I actually have the mental capacity to listen to both side of the isle unlike these morons, but why politicize everything, why not have a little class and leave your hatred at home instead of tearing the country apart even more. So I guess I got to episode 6 or so before Douglas has the love affair with his favorite TV character Don Lemon, and actually turns to comment back to the TV, and I knew I couldn't go on. I'm accepting of all and I respect most people and their lifestyles, but anytime I'm forced to listen to hatespeach disguised as clever dialogue, all I see is lowclass or more like NO class at all. So aside from that, I'm amazed how old Douglas really looks without the pancake makeup we usually see him wear. He's only in his mid 70's I believe, and looks every day as old as Allan Arkin who looks amzing in comparison and actually is quite a bit older in real life. Douglas has bad posture, he walks like he's 90 and no I don't believe that's acting, that's probably his actuall old-man shuffle, but then again he never had the style and class of his father. Allan Arkin carries this show for sure, he's the only character in the series that I actually care about and want to see more of. The rest of the cast, imho, completely lack charisma and personality, and I particularly find Douglas's love-interest a really bad choise; something about the puffy eyes and the complete lack of sincerity in every scene, except I should add, the scene she does on their first date in the cafe where she pretends to be crying over her ex; that is the only scene she appears in that seems real, and that of course is her acting as she admits. So she can act, but not in this series unfortunately. Douglas's daughter is an equally bad casting choise, with a complete lack of anything except excess pounds...charisma, character...just not there. And I'll never understand the need to bring back what appears to be mummies with rubber prosthetic faces stretched over their otherwise decent facial features, as in Ann Margret; there comes a time when it's over, and in her case that time has come. I mean it's freightening and only interesting for 3 seconds. So that's it for me, the two male characters have potential, particularly Arkin, but without any other likeable characters and because of the imbedded hate speach, I'm out and couldn't care less about the episodes I didn't get to see.
