This film has absolutely no plot, and there is nothing in the ‘story’ to suggest that it is to do with a working class uprising as was suggested by the description. In fact the director ends up depicting the upper class in a more sympathetic way than the revolutionaries, so they’ve done the Mexican working class a bit of a disservice. There are plenty of moments that had the potential to be interesting, but they are immediately dropped or never contextualised. There are several times where I was given hope for some sliver of a plot, and then the character would be inexplicably shot in the next scene. Don’t waste your money, I always try to find some positive in films as I love the cinema, but I am struggling here. The gratuitous sexual violence almost caused me to walk out which I have never done before. Wish I hadn’t wasted my time waiting it out. If I could give this 0 then I would have done.
