I found Jill’s story interesting and victorious. I applaud her courage to step outside her groomed upbringing and against the force of her father’s abusive persuasion. What is sad to me in this story is the abusive teaching of Christ Jesus. If you read this book and don’t know Christ Jesus, let me tell you, he is a loving Savior who doesn’t keep records of wrongs, as did Pops. He accepts you as you are. Religion can be used as a weapon as in Gothard’s teachings, that’s the truly sad part of this book.
