I met Eben Alexander years ago when he spoke at the Uplift Festival in Byron Bay. He had an openness and fearlessness like other people I've met who have had NDEs (Near Death Experiences) His account of his journey is brutally honest, inspiring and moving. He's not trying to sell us anything but is sharing what he experienced in the 7 days that he was in a coma and learned that there really is nothing to fear. One thing that I really appreciate about the book is that it embraces spirituality and science. It is a book of connection, love and acceptance and the fac that Eben Alexander can offer a medical observation as well as a real experience is icing on the cake. Not a book for the faint minded.

A great book that is faithful to the story of Reiki and the simplicity of practise as passed from Hawayo Takata (who brought Reiki to the west from Japan in the 1930's) and Wanja Twan (one of the 22 people Takata made a Master). It contains the love, respect, practices, ethics and humility of Usui Shiki Ryoho - the Usui System of Natural Healing.
