The first hour and a half of this movie plays like a psychedelic trip ... some gorgeous visuals, but an utterly disoriented story that only makes partial sense in retrospect but is baffling in real time. The conclusion is strongly emotional, but to my family it didn't redeem the untethered weirdness that preceded it.
The soundtrack, however is lusciously beautiful.
I'm guessing the whole experience would make more sense if stoned ... not my thing.
