Shakun Batra scores an Ace yet again! Have seen all his movies and loved them but with this one he has set the bar even higher again for his next! Gehraiyaan lives up to its name and the hype.. it's DEEP!! What I loved about the movie was _It was totally engrossing not a single moment of drag or unnecessary scenes..very tight taut emotional thriller _It was very very REAL in terms of characters..acting... dialogues.. sets.. direction.. emotions unusual for a Bollywood movie and refreshing! _The drama unfolded scene after scene and ran through a gamut of situations that kept one glued throughout ..the entire cast displayed nuanced performances but the show stealer was Deepika who seems to have gone into the skin of Alisha and fleshed out a performance that is one her finest to date. Sidhhant has potential.. Ananya does her best which suffices..Nasser and others are good too _The direction is slick stylish natural modern and a welcome change from the run of the mill Bollywood fare. _One movie that lived up to its hype ..the layers and layers of the huge roaring grey waves rising and crashing taking us into the very depths of human fallacies..it's actions reactions consequences and ultimately the calm after the storm before another one come around again! The standard of Bollywood movies is surely rising and that's a welcome change 😊

The biggest takeaway after seeing this intense movie was it left me wondering why why why Time and time again have our ancestors been plundered our temples looted our women and culture raped forcibly converted or driven out of our own homes Not just centuries ago as we have studied in history about Mughal British invasions but even as recently as a couple of decades ago in 1990 Seeing this hard hitting movie made me wonder Maybe our innate tolerancewhich we take pride in our soft nature emotional to the core our trusting kindness and virtues taught in our religious scripturesour so called parampara and sanskaar inculcated by our ancestorshas that made us more vulnerable has that been our undoingto the point of not even been able to protect ourselves As opposed to the invaders whose Gods they claim make every evil act legit and gave them the courage to go on a rampage all in the name of religion Just like in the movieeven after that ghastly genocide the boy Krishna is shielded and kept away from the brutal reality of his familys past for several years until he is told much laterwhereas in stark contrast little boys of other community are used ruthlessly to propagate evil propoganda brainwashed right from childhoodno confusion thereabsolute totalitarianno wonder they all staunchly support each other however educated or modern they may bethey stand united Unlike our ilk who are most divided and fight against each other rather than collectively fight what threatens our survival Maybe therein lies the reason why the Evil forces crushed and drove away the original inhabitants of this glorious land The righteous were too meek and trusting and virtuous for our own good and indifferent to our own people Ready to be abused crushed and dominated by the outsiders When our goodness is taken advantage of and threatens our very survivalits time to say no more The Kashmir Files poignantly potrays the genocide of the Kashmiri Pandits in Jan 1990its a very well researched brilliantly directed and enacted superbly by talented artists The unfolding of events leading up to the brutal genocide the brutality of the perpetrators the helplessness of the victims the typical biased role of the mediathe games of the so called deluded intelligensia superrrbly enacted by Pallavi joshi how politicians milk a situationand most importantly the lack of public attention and support this humongous tragedy received due to the non support of the then ruling government is captured superbly in this must watch movie One of the most intense hard hitting relevant story that has ever been captured in celluloid Vivek Agnihotri and team deserve a standing ovation and more A must must watch for every Indian Dont miss
