Was watching Naked and Afraid episode Lacey's Journey which was a 2 hour episode and noticed one of Jose Escamilla's "rods" flies in between the camera and the campsite...bigger than Dallas...for real.
If you pause the DVR and go thru the scene frame by frame you can clearly see the exact same shape that matches closely to the "rods" in the Jose Escamilla documentary "Rods: The Smoking Gun Evidence". The late Jose Escamilla had been accused by his detractors of doctoring or faking his film footage.
If that is true, than I guess the producers of Naked and Afraid faked their footage as well. I don't believe that's the case and it seems to be independent visual evidence captured by this TV show that shows that these "rods" do exist in the natural realm- at least in Africa anyway.
You can clearly see in a frame by frame view of the footage that the "rod" is in front of the main tree of the campsite, but as it keeps moving from right to left, you can see it clearly go behind some branches and leaves as it passes through and out of the scene which is in the last few minutes of the episode and starts immediately after the moon goes down and it gets dark.
Check it out and please comment. Don't comment if you haven't examined the footage carefully. At first I thought it was an airplane that flew by- but it seemed unusually bright and irregularly shaped; which is why I checked it out to begin with.
Under closer scrutiny, it is definitely not an airplane...and it actually seems to be producing it's own light source, not just reflecting the light source of the camera...because as it moves out of the scene and away from the source of camera light, it doesn't get dimmer, it just stays the same brightness all the way through the shot.
If it's not a "rod" that's OK, but it's compelling footage at the very least captured by a TV show that has nothing to do with the subject.
If it ain't a "rod", then you tell me what it is.
