Meredith's Triumph
The author, Theresa Corbley Siller, of “Meredith’s Triumph”, explores the life of a teenager Meredith, the main character in the book, who is being bullied by her classmates for being overweight.
Meredith has struggled with Obesity and OCD issues most of her life but finds it extremely difficult to make long-lasting changes on her own. Trinity, her BFF, sticks by her no matter what happens and wishes she could do more to stop the unrelenting bullying of other classmates but realizes only Meredith can implement the change.
Through inspirational and guided conversations with her therapist and her parents, especially her father, she devises a plan to take back control of her health and rebuild her life.
Every chapter unfolds the inspiring story and journey of how Meredith, develops the skills to break the cycle of bullying. I enjoyed reading about her small victories over OCD and her achievements in losing weight using OA- Overeaters Anonymous.
I highly recommend this book for all teenagers and parents to read if someone you know is being bullied for any reason. It stresses the importance of treating each other with respect and gives ideas of what to do if you are a victim of bullying.
Great job, Theresa Corbley Siller! I look forward to reading more of your writings.
