Yet another worthwhile venture by Amir Khan Films and the Director Kiran Rao.
Amazing movie!
...that's to say the least.
Keeps you captivated, throughout! Wonderful casting and brilliant acting.
Felt as if, it was too short. One reason behind feeling so... was, it has a free flow and the narrative develops with the advancement of each frame. It doesn't feel sticky or lack luster even one bit.
Ravi Kishan, an actor par excellence. Doesn't feature very often in Hindi films but invariably is a treat to watch.
The other three leads have done a stunning job, too. They keep you engaged through their acting.
Not often times does it happen that a simple script keeps you interested through the run.
The underlying message of woman empowerment and girls' education is portrayed so well.
One shot that sticks or at least left lasting impression on me, was...
'the shopkeeper explaining how a ghoonghat robs a woman off her identity and the shot cuts to show his wife reaching out to him in a naqaab (बुरखा)'. Wonderful depiction. Truly a director's cut! There are several such moments but this one takes it all.
Need it be said, this wonderful screenplay wouldn't have made it to the forefront without a wonderful storyline. Great job with the story and the screenplay.
Well, not giving out any more than that one shot. You got to pay, to watch a creative piece.
So... run... go, grab your tickets before they take this masterpiece off the screens!
Enjoy!
