In so many ways I thought this was a great movie. The eeriness was a great twist. The story interesting. The huntsman (Chris) the queen (Clarize) , her brother and the dwarves all played their roles amazing, but I must say I really didn't like Kristen as snow white. She did the English accent well, but her acting is no where near as good as Chris and Clarize. I suspect they cast her because of the twilight hype, and because they were adding a bit of a dark twist to the story they thought her grungy aura added to that. But, to be honest that darkness in every other part of the movie could have been used to emphasise the purity and light of snow white more, something which I think Kristen would have always struggled to portray, but something that I feel could have added more depth and emotion to the movie. For me, her casting made what could have been a movie I would recommend into something that was good but nothing special. I didn't bother watching the second because of It but I just read a review below that said she isn't in that one, so I think I will give it a go.
