Just a girl from Alabama, fascinated by this movie. I'm a Johnny come lately, but I'm mesmerized by the boy, his father, his mother and Vincent d'onfrio. I know him from law and order:criminal intent. He's always been a favorite. What creates evil is a very underrated subject. This movie,very terrifyingly puts it in your face. Is it an excuse, an explanation, bullshit? It's terrifyingly to me because I don't know how to process it. Horror, terror, the dismantling of an innocent.

Number one: who lives on a secluded farm and has no gun?!? Not only does he have no gun, but is offended when the neighbor has one to protect against what he thinks is a rabid dog!! Number two: polite conversation with gas-masked,dry board communicating freak!! I've only seen 2 episodes, so that's it for now. Almost forgot: all music that is not Neil Young?!? What is that crap?

Pay close attention to the Swedish couple(?) living in Alaska in BFE!! Heed the warning of your elders, or else!! If you'd like a High Octane Shoot out at the OK Corral, this is for you! Really good movie, I couldn't see some because of the darkness-must be trend-Along with Way Too Loud background noise/music.

I was extremely disappointed in this much touted over hyped movie. IDK where to start: God-awful sound track, depressing visual surroundings like house, car, Eva's clothing and hair etc... The flashbacks seemed to be the center of this waste of time! What about the 'Incident'? It almost seemed an after thought! I hated it! I like 'GOOD' movies.!! Characters that actually 'ACT'. Not a metaphor, allegory or any other bs!!! This seems to be the reason so many crucially Acclaimed movies are box office flops@@ UGH!!

I felt robbed in the end! What sick game was Marcus playing with Vaughn? Why?! Vaughn didn't really want to go but felt obligated. Marcus seemed like an arse and jealous from beginning. I thought that would be extent of his depravity- hell no!! I may be alone in this opinion, but I think Marcus purposely targeted Vaughn He could have NOT shot the boy with his gun pointed at the ground-where deers head was!! Why he give him the liquor, his gun, keep yelling SHOOT?!? I believe there's ALot more to this story. I may be alone, but I thought this horrid betrayal would be explained in the end. Now I'm just wondering... WARNING ⚠️ ⚠️ SPOILERS🥺🥺🤔🤔

Wow!!! I very seldom write reviews of movies, this is an exception. One of the best movies I've seen in years! Definitely a "thinking man's " movie. A unique experience.

Is there more than one version of this movie? I saw no gratuitous violence or sex scenes. Implied, yes. I've seen more violence and depravity on Criminal Minds and Law and Order. I agree with another viewer that I'm lwe eft going "What?"

I'm 50 and I was terrified until the end! I'd seen it before and didn't really pay attention but last night I did -alone- awake all night! Love Richard Dalton Thompson and D'Onfrio from Law and Order shows already, wish it would've had little more back story about other families. Wife seemed oblivious. Someone would've told her about house, murders or she would've known where she was moving. Some watcher commented that Ethan Hawke didn't know what was up and was moving to 'country' for peace and quiet?!? Absolutely not!! He wanted , needed a 10 year in the making Then, best seller!! He knew EXACTLY which house he was moving his family into- it was the whole point! As Fred Thompson said to him, pointing to the house, 'and this is in very bad taste!" Once again, wife not very inquisitive. His obsession with writing a new best seller won out over his family and common decency. As the daughter says to the father right before she murders him with an axe'ill make you famous again daddy.' Terrors in every direction!

Having Tammy go to a rehabilitation center is not "Giving up" on her. It would be the same as any caring family sending a heroin addict to rehab. She is a food addict, and probably a great deal more abusive than a drug addict! Y'all stop the cussing. Amy has a baby and people around you in restaurants etc.. Don't want to hear these obscenities!
