We absolutely loved the movie. They stayed hardcore true to the musical, and expanded the experience. There was one short scene toward the end (with those infamous flying monkeys) that was a little scary for my 8 year old who has seen the musical on stage, but other than that she adored every single second with me! They did a phenomenal job. SO many Easter eggs that we absolutely screamed for. This one should be wildly popular with everyone of all ages! Best movie I’ve seen in YEARS.

The plastic straw frappacino cup on the replicator display within the first 5 minutes turned me off completely. And the cheaped out special effects for the rest of the pilot confirmed my initial impression. This isn’t Star Trek. Star Trek is about future idealism, with smart and considered, mature solutions to difficult problems. This...is a bowing to the JJ Abrams disasters, without the budget or the screen writers (even for whatever they didn’t do for the Continuum). Nope nope nope 👎
