Martin McDonagh wastes his considerable talent and that of his actors on a tale that leaves you counting your toes and wondering where those two hours went. The horror of this story is completely avoidable and if the author simply focused on his character’s idiosyncrasies instead of horrifying us, this might have been a great tale of stubborn friendship in rural Ireland. Instead he leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.
