I watched this movie without reading the reviews. I grew up in Europe and I can translate eleven languages, so I thought that I would watch this movie to create a few SRT files (Hobby.) This film already subtitles to it and instead of making any more, I was mesmerized by the entire movie. The production, clarity, acting, lighting, music score. Everything was so much better than I was expecting for a film from 1979. If you haven't seen this movie, see it you will not be disappointed.
Additional notes: There are a few scenes where nudity is seen. Where and when I come from, this was a normal thing for kids to do rather than get their clothes wet. The scenes show a child nude both front and back. So what. I just glossed right over it and did not notice it until one of my friends in the United States mentioned it. I went back and found it, but as I said before, everything is tastefully done. Nothing unexpected from that era. Puritans; people are born without clothes. Get over it.
