I really looked forward to seeing this movie. As a history buff, I was all set to enjoy it but alas, it was not to be. The movie initially engaged me in the characters and setting. As it wore on, however, it seemed to focus less on impacts to and reactions of the Osage and more on the predictable foibles of the interlopers trying to steal Osage money. The white characters became less appealing as their screen time increased. That would be all well and good in a 90 minute movie but honestly at the end of three hours I just didn’t care about any of the characters any more. I regret that I sat through to the end. I would give one star but for Lily Gladstone’s performance and the fact the movie had an indigenous star.
