giving a 2 stars was very, very generous. many times throughout this movie did i question myself- "should i really keep watching?? is this worth the pain?" the amount of times i cringed and paused to take breathers was insane. but i FORGED through because i wanted to see this movie through. why? i don't know. i found MANY of the characters unlikeable. joshua, the danny guy and even lucy herself. they annoyed me a lot. i guess it's because of how they were written? the only reason why i gave this a 2 star was because of the scenes whenever he took care of her. e.g protecting her during the paintball scene and taking care of her when she was sick. i have to admit these scenes were cute. BUT THAT'S IT. *some spoilers* everything else was hella cringy, annoying and genuinely stupid. like i know THAT DID NOT JUST COME OUT OF YOUR MOUTH HONEY. do these characters not think before they say anything? the way she just randomly started lusting after him after one s** dream was stupid. also why in the world would you tell him about it so openly. like WHY. also, i don't like how she forced herself to kiss danny as some sort of "experiment" to test if she liked joshua. what the heck. she then proceeds to leave danny boy in the wind BACK TO joshua?? like, "oh well, kissing danny was not it, i guess i like joshua lol" ???????????????????? side note, i read the book YEARS ago and remember enjoying it back then. now that i think about it, i know i would hate it if i re-read it again. TRUST that both the movie and book is not good. in conclusion, that was genuinely the longest 1h and 30 mins of my life. do not recommend. it was painful and i KNOW doing literally anything else would be more fruitful than spending your time watching this movie. if you enjoyed it, huzzah for you! this movie was not a huzzah for me👍.
