I think I would of loved this if I were in middle school

Collin Ferrell is amazing. The story is well written and smart. It’s not overly dramatic or unbelievable. Oswald’s character is portrayed with depth. He isn’t a one dimensional villain who wants to destroy Gotham. He is a gangster who has boundaries and a sense of morality. Much like Tony Soprano, he’s still a murderer.

Danny McBride is the man. If you like East bound and down, you will love this. I was really upset about HBO canceling Vice Principles but when this came out with the Gemstones, I was thrilled! The worst part about this show, is knowing in the back of your mind. Churches like this exist and I think it’s great someone is throwing them under the bus finally.

I wish I could just rate individual seasons. S1-S2 solid 5 stars! I love the characters the story, soundtrack and sets. However, S3 maybe a 3.5 and sadly the final season was a total and miserable 1 star.

It COULD have been 5 stars but I’m so tired of watching movies about slavery in the US being compared to Nazis during WWII… Slaves cost more than anything you could buy back then! You didn’t go around beating them and shooting them in the head! Those things DID happen but it was far from normal. YES! Slavery is BAD! But ppl here in the US need to WAKE UP bc slavery is an institution that is STILL HAPPENING TODAY!! Plus, STOP PORTRAYING LINCOLN and the Union AS A GREAT WHITE HOPE… Lincoln was a devout racist, who believed in segregation and before he was assassinated he planned to put all the freed slaves on ships and send them back to Africa.

Incredibly complex, well written and even better cast. The actors look identical to their younger selves, and the soundtrack is amazing
