I'm really confused. I love Mick Herron's work and own and have read all of his previous books but I'm really struggling with this one. It reads like it's written by someone trying to write like Herron and trying too hard. The humour feels forced, the characters lack the depth of the cast of the Slough House books and the obvious parodying of the recent Tory Government is lazy. Disappointed TBH.
