I am not Indian, this is 2022 and yet the elite of Indian society keeps on insulting, condescending and patronising the people of India. However the tragedy is that so many Indians are still watching these frankly insulting movies and even rating them 5 stars right here! So sad. If you gonna watch it only do so to see how insulting is to the growing, developing world super power that the rest of the world is calling India and yet the elite are still making films with the presumptions that most of India is still backwards and the few educated Indians will be entertain by lampooning its own people - this is utterly shameful and shame on you if you laughed ! As I said I am not Indian and have never visited India so correct me, actually tell me off if even a tiny minority of people in India lives like it is portrayed in this film. I can’t even justify this movie as a satire as the makers (conceited as they are) are too arrogant to even know the difference. I am saddened by the fact that India is still treated in this way by its own people in the year 2022!

A very poorly made biopic that I am now ashamed to admit that I was very eagerly awaiting because of the mathematical centrality but alas this film was turned into another common melodramatic bollywood disappointment. So essence of the film (mathematics) is lost in translation or by poorly and lazily written film writer, editors and directors. Lots of arcs are forced into and the acting have been ghastly. Shakuntala Devi is not a film you expect and not in a good way, it is a poorly made and terribly directed movie. The potential of a very good story ruined, perhaps and maybe, one day a much better biopic of this extraordinary woman mathematician will be remade but until then don't watch this one for shakuntala devi or maths, find something else. I'll recommend Beautiful Mind or the man who knew infinity.
