This may well be one of the worst films I have ever seen. From the moment Joaquin Phoenix delivered his first line in a broad American accent, I couldn’t stop laughing. Oddly enough, with some editing, it could have worked as a comedy. I’m not sure that’s a good thing when the director set out to make a historical drama.
