Tldr: save your money & time & rewatch the original at home. This movie was off the rails and not in a good way. The plot had so many side stories/unnecessary characters. One scene in particular (wedding cake) went on wayyy too long. If I had watched at home, I would've hit fast forward. Big name actors, good set/costume design that you would expect from a Burton film. Tho Winona Ryder spent most of her scenes either squinting at her shitty boyfriend or daughter or looking wide-eyed at Beetlejuice.... honestly I expected a little more. Catherine O'Hara & Jenna Ortega were fantastic tho. The original was just that - original! A little creepy, too. This was was more on the gross side. I'm disappointed this is the sequel & proof you can't recapture the magic twice!
