Netflix's adaptation feels stuck moving forward, instead of savoring each scene. I'm not sure if this is due to poor pacing / editing or wooden acting. There's just something that feels in-between the viewer and the world they are trying to build. Maybe what it boils down to is we are not discovering the world alongside Aang, but instead having it force fed to us through expositional dialogue. I understand this is the first season and the show may just be getting its feet underneath it.
Besides that, the bending is visually pleasing, and the show doesn't shy away from a lot of immolation.
