Any immigrant or child of immigrants should see this film and understand how most of us got here, past and present. It’s the history of our world that conflict and the promise of a better life for our children forces us to make choices we weren’t naturally inclined to make. It also speaks to the foolishness of choices of the mob.

The story unfolds in an unexpected way. Thought provoking and satisfying for the invested viewer.,

I feel like I’ve worked in that environment.it gives no recognition of your own humanity and comprehension. You start to get detached and, if smart, move on.

I really enjoy this sort of film; thoughtful character studies and no car chases...although that line could have been pursued with Mary. “Co-starring” Imelda Staunton is a stretch. That bit was more of a cameo, unless I napped briefly and missed the rest of her story. And, I seriously don’t know how Mary held on to her job.
