Watching a movie for me isn’t about ripping all the flaws apart. I didn’t expect Star Wars artistry - BUT I saw a tremendous and very much in the news attitude that fills me with anger right now. The mom of the young man who tells her he is gay is a text book person of today. This is a woman who “tricked” a young girl seeking info on abortion and doesn’t fill out forms but rushes her into exam room to immediately let her see “baby or fetus” she says when she had baby she heard his cries like Angel signings. She says babies are worth all the sacrifice ( paraphrase) this same Mom with her rigid views on abortion has no problem “aborting and killing” her son who has saved her life and saved his father’s life and I am stunned when she corrects er employee and says I have no son. Immigration is ok. We need to see this and we need to feel the fear that immigrants have. I wasn’t watching for an Academy Award winning movie. It didn’t advertise that it was. But I saw a truth that other people live with and losing a mom who is that judgmental and stupid isn’t much of a loss. My adult three children could tell me they were anything and my love is unconditionally it is something they didn’t ask for and for a fetus to be more valuable than a child of any age is a wake up lesson.
