I wanted to like this book. It's well written, but it's full of flawed characters. These people keep making the same selfish stupid mistakes over and over again. Flawed characters is fine, but the pacing is such that I have to wallow in their bad decisions long enough that come Act II (Act III?), I don't care. If they were a little more selfish, a little more mean, I might enjoy seeing them deal with the consequences. But it's just sad. I gave up at page 340/415. tl;df
