This movie was absolutely TERRIBLE. A huge waste of time and makes me sad for directors, screenwriters, and people behind the scenes in this industry who have something to show to the world that aren't getting an opportunity due to not having connections which equals lack of funding. This is the epitome of someone who knew the right people to not only create the movie, but release in theaters, AND afford Zendaya. Her being in this movie was the only reason it was widely marketed and there wasnt even anything worth seeing. What was the purpose of the movie? What propelled us forward to understand our destination? The relationships were convoluted and weird not in a real-world way but no intentionality, no substance, no POINT!! I guess Zendayas character was the vehicle of this movie? Pushing the 2 guys in some direction? But then again was it her? The guys friendship was weird and had interesting undertones that confused me. Several scenes included techno/fast-paced music in the most unnecessary way. I get it -- even when they weren't on the court, they were still playing a game.... I guess. So many slow motion scenes, beyond useless angles from the perspective of the ball or the players hitting the ball. The final scene was excruciatingly slow and painful to watch. If I could give this 0 stars I would. What can you take from this movie? Some movies provoke thought, replicate life, allow an escape from reality, etc. I can't come up with an answer to that question for this movie because in order to answer the question you have to understand what you just watched. But there is nothing to understand, just accept this was terrible. I think what I'm really trying to understand is why was this created. Wow. Terrible. The people who gave it anything about 1 star, had to have been paid to do so.
