The physics are a little more realistic than average and the fight scenes are significantly better than average - she's routinely knocked around by someone bigger and stronger than she is and has to be tricky and clever instead. And is as shocked as she should be sometimes when the tricks work. But there's next to no character development or plot. And the total lack of concern about infection is a dead give-away that it's not our universe.
Also, as a castle fan (the buildings, not the show), I'm pleased that the servants' passages are not a complete alternate method of travel within the tower; they never were or could have been. Having to use the regular corridors most of the time is correct. The light levels are rediculously high, but that's necessary for cinema.
All in all, it's a good way to spend 1:44; you don't realise it's that long because it's sufficiently engaging. It's good. It just could have been better with more attention to the story. Or at least /have/ a story. This is more like one day /of/ a story.
Also, the sound director should be taken out and smothered. Like most of them these days, the concern is clearly on getting the noise correct and ignoring the volume. Unlike some s/he (I didn't look them up) doesn't drown out the characters' lines, but the stealth sequences are way too noisy to be believable, even with maximum suspension of disbelief. Especially when the POV can overhear private conversations. smh.
