Hands down the most beautifully painful anime I have ever watched. While dealing with issues like child abuse, abandonment and long term issues that stem from the parental negligence, it transcends somehow to a heart touching series with mild humour, strong message and wonderfully written characters. The subtle love and care shown by each characters to Kotoro while they have their own bag of problems makes you believe that humanity exists..
