I was wrong when I thought Angela Bassett was being a sore loser at the Academy Awards.
This is about a family that due to time and survival pressures and shifts in societal changes., find their personal connections to eachother eroding.
I'm assuming (because, I confess, I could not finish it) in the end they find Redemption through fantasy in the form of a trip through the Multiverse that reveals thier individual complexities, awkwardness, and most prominently their super-human powers. This weak premise fails to support or add resonance to hours of absurdist, surreal and, at times, clever Kung fu fight sequences. It really stresses a commitment to finish out a boring movie.
I've been experiencing public bamboozlement and clamoring for an essentially bad film in many instances throughout the years. This is another one of those movies that you can throw on that pile.
