I felt that there was an endless barrage of words coming at me for the entire movie and I couldn't possibly absorb or keep up with it, which resulted in my missing much of the subtle nuances, sarcasm, and usual verbal humor. As for the three stories, there were also far too many characters to follow, which made you quickly lose focus of the main story about the death of (Bill Murray) the owner of the French Dispatch company who favored his writers above all else, but who would still completely dismantle the company entirely upon his passing, leave everyone without a job, including his favorite writers. So what kind of memorable act is that I ask? I also did not like the funeral opening or funeral ending which I felt left me feeling nothing for this movie. I do, however, like most of Anderson's other films that have a more substantial 'main' storyline to follow with fewer main and minor characters to follow.
