The bad reviews are so wrong, it actually made me question their motivation. How could so many reviews be so wrong, all at once? Then I discovered, the author is a conservative blogger. Has it come to the point, in our wonderful country, that unless you spout the "approved socialist message", they will attempt to destroy you? And, it's a coordinated attack? Wow, frightening! Some reviewers even go so far as to suggest, subtly, what the movie SHOULD have been about, (systemic causes of poverty for example) while denigrating hard work, rising above obstacles, individual choices and success! Completely ignoring the devastating effects of drugs pouring into the US or mental illness. Yes, you read that correct, the reviewers suggest qualities most of us admire into an immoral outcome! Sound familiar? If you don't believe we are being manipulated by a politically motivated, socialist intellectually elitist press, these reviews might convince you. And, it's being done to us in a thousand different ways we might not even notice! Like an innocent movie review. Watch the movie, then read the reviews! You tell me. Note, 86% of the people that have seen the movie loved it!
