Cringe cliches and can’t decide what it is…if it’s going to be based on the old detective films, which the narrative indicates, it doesn’t elevate that format into something new. And we all know the formula making it arduous to put up with the crap dialogue and nil character development. I didn’t care what happened to any of the characters. The only promising plot line was the jealous husband, an interesting twist to cast the protagonist as very flawed. But not enough to stop me turning it off, and I gave it more time due to the cast.
I agree some films/TV needs to be given time for the plots and characters to develop, I turned off “breaking bad” during the second episode until a friend urged me to stick with it. And I’m very glad I did!
But this is not one of those, the sunshine and Grecian scenery is nice enough to wash over you if you want background tv, but this does not hold attention, in fact the opposite, it’s an effort to stay in the story.
