Loved it. The opening animation didn’t seem promising but then everything else was super fun. This is probably the only movie I’ve seen which has been able to get the 80’s idea of comedy perfectly adapted to a modern sensibility. I swear if you know what I’m talking about you’d probably remember the weird jokes and the outta pocket stuff they thought was funny back then, like I can’t watch any old comedies from that era because I find it too detached from my experiences but this one just got it sooooo right. Even the dialogues I was afraid at times would be like the kind from the 80s but they’re not but that’s just a testament to their set design.
It’s not outrageous per se
You won’t see dangling eyes or dated references bored into your skull nor any overly complex plot like that of some marvel side story but it was truly quite unique. This should definitely be a cult classic comedy as it catches all the odd stuff that made 80s movies memorable but it’s adapted to this era and maintains certain themes we all experience no matter the time or space as humans.
Pretty cool.. for some reason they were successfully able to make Cole sprouse really cute for a scene or maybe he is cute and the hairstyle suited him. 9.5/10
